How to maintain & RECERTIFY your c-CAT certification
CMLE Program
You must also have successfully completed the CMLE course & examination prior to the start of the C-CAT recertification program.
Continuing Education
Completion of a minimum of 3 hours per calendar year of continuing education directly relating to or relevant to the field of independent evaluations and disability management. This might include conference and/or webinar participation, research publication, or formal course work. Any other proposed educational activities will require review by the credentialing committee on special request and with full documentation.

Membership
Maintaining an active membership with either CSME or CAPDA.
Recertify
Your C-CAT certification is valid for five years. Completing the C-CAT recertification program will renew your C-CAT certification for an additional 5 years.
- The program is held on a platform called peerScholar. After registering you'll receive instructions on how to access the platform.
- The program is broken up into three phases. The Create, Assess, and Reflect phases. Each phase has a scheduled start time and end time.
- Create Phase: Add your catastrophic report. Remove all identifying information pertaining to you and the patient.
- Assess Phase: Review 1-3 reports submitted by peers that are also recertifying, and answer 3 feedback questions for each report. This is all done anonymously.
- Reflect Phase: Opportunity to use the feedback you received to revise your report. Provide response to feedback received.
- Submit your final report and it will be received by the Examination Committee.
- Results can be expected in 4-6 weeks.
